How to Transfer Facebook Photos and Videos to Google Photos

Hello Facebook users, here is the good news for you because Facebook has come up with the new feature that is Photo and Video Migration tool which will help you to transfer your Facebook photos and videos to Google Photos. Isn’t that so interesting? Of course yes.

Now you can transfer a copy of your Facebook photos or videos through mobile, laptop, PC, or any device or any operating system.

The Facebook photos and videos transfer tool initially launched in December 2019 as part of the Data Transfer Project, In March, the tool started becoming available around the globe, including the countries in Africa, Asia Pacific, and Latin America. And the remaining countries will have access in the next couple of months as well.

In these following simple steps, you can copy your entire Facebook photos or videos over to Google Photos, with no third-party hacks or software necessary.

So, let’s dive in without any more delay.

Step-1: Go to ‘Your Facebook Information’ in your Facebook Settings

In Web Browser:

Go to facebook.com and start by logging into your Facebook account. Once there, go to your Facebook settings. This is located on the upside-down triangle icon on the right of your desktop screen. 

In Mobile application: 

Lunch your Facebook app on your mobile device and login to your Facebook account, then tap on the menu located in the top right corner of your screen and scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will find the “Setting” option.

Step-2: Select ‘Transfer a Copy of Your Photos or Videos’

After getting into the setting menu, you will see the heading “Your Facebook Information”. Under that section, you will have to click “Transfer a Copy of your Photos or Videos.” 

Step-3: Enter your Facebook password

To ensure you are the person who transferring your photos and videos, Facebook requires users to input their password so you will have to enter your password. When you have done you would want to move on to the next option.

Step-4: Choose a destination

Now, you’ll need to choose a destination for your images to secure your photos and videos. In this option, you will find Google Photos only for right now that works with Facebook’s photo and video migration tool, though more will be added in the future.

After selecting a Google Photos option, you need to choose to transfer a copy of either your photos or videos you’ve uploaded to Facebook and hit the Next button. 

Once you select “Next,” you will need to grant Facebook permission to add content to your Google Photos account.

Step-5: Confirm Transfer

Now you are in the final step, click the “Confirm Transfer” to begin the migration process. It will take some time to migrate according to the size of your library. 

After the migration is completed, you will find the file named “Copy of …” in your Google Photo which will actually correspond directly with the names of your photo albums on Facebook.
